Scooters

Scooters provide a fantastic way to commute, particularly if the terrain is fairly level.
Steeper hills will require assistance from the rider  "scooting" along with the motor - perhaps this had something to do with the writer weighing in at a hefty 105Kg.
On the level, downhill and on slight inclines, they are fabulous - the writer was easily able to reach a speed of 40kph on a level road and 27kph on a slight uphill.
A scooter would be ideal for the riding along Cape Town's Waterfront, in Sea Point or Camps Bay, or from Muizenberg to Simons Town.  The same applies to Durban or Port Elizabeth's beach fronts.

The scooters are equipped with hooters, a good rear brake, front and brake lights.  The standing platform is nice and big, providing ample space for the writer's size 14 feet!
The scooters also come with a seat, which has been removed from the bike in the picture.
