Do not perform the battery connection if you are not familiar with electronics.

You will need a voltmeter in order to verify that the integrity of this operation!

How Not To Do It

This installation, done by one of our competitors, was brought to RELECTRO to sort out.  Two red wires were left hanging out of the battery case for the client to connect to his controller.

When we opened up the battery, we discovered that the wires were the in and out wires from the key switch.  Neither had been connected to the +ve battery terminal and there was no black wire connected to the -ve terminal.

This is what you get when you deal with a company that has no technical knowledge whatsoever.  They simply act as importers and, at best, connect plug and play components.  They are totally clueless with respect to the technical aspects of the system.

All we can say, is please ensure that whoever you're dealing with knows more than how to unpack the boxes and fit the kit to your bike.  Make sure you ask real technical stuff to determine whether the guys you're dealing with know their stuff.

That said, there are some good guys out there - just make sure you choose one of them, and not the bunch who did this installation!
