The ebike industry has, by and large, standardised on 18650 lithium-ion cells for its batteries.  These cells have a diameter of 18mm and a height of 65mm.  Branded, high quality cells are produced by the likes of Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Sanyo, Sony as well as by a host of companies making knock off cells, often with labels indistinguishable from those of the previously mentioned branded companies.

Up until now, RELECTRO has, stocked 18650 cells from Samsung and Panasonic with capacities of 2600mAh and 3500mAh.
We now stock Sanyo 20700B cells, which as the name implies, have a diameter of 20mm and a height of 70mm.  The reason for us acquiring these cells include:
  • Sanyo is a well-respected company, being majority owned by Panasonic
  • the cells pack a higher capacity of 4250mAh, with an average amperage draw of 12 amps (max of 15A) - excellent specs by any measure
  • while we can pack fewer cells into the battery packs, we can typically offer lighter, higher capacity batteries at around the same price as with the 18650 cells
We also stock BAK 3200mAh (18650) and 4800mAh (21700) cells.
